Expert Lead Buyer Contract Management

We are looking for a Expert Lead Buyer Contract Management (Brussels).

In this job you ensure that the goods and services needed by the companies of Equans BeLux are provided in time, with the right quality, and in alignment with the business and procurement targets including Group strategy, while mitigating the risks, respecting the Group HSE, ethical and CSR principles and capturing innovation.

Your main accountabilities:

  • mission, strategy & objectives setting:
    • contribute to the operationalization and implementation of the mission, strategy and objectives setting of Procurement BeLux
  • contract management:
    • manage a portfolio of (frame work) agreements with contracted suppliers within appointed purchasing categories
    • manage extensions, re-negotiations for the portfolio of (frame work) agreements to ensure they are kept up to date throughout the life cycle of the agreement
    • maintain information in the contract database
    • identification of new potential (additional savings, reducing risks, efficient process) via the contracting of non-contracted key suppliers within appointed purchasing categories
    • align with category owner at Procurement to ensure an aligned strategy and execution
    • support & escalation related to ‘End of Year Bonus’ activities
    • communication of agreements to internal business (end users) via the appropriate channels
    • act as moderator in discussions between internal clients and suppliers
    • collaborate with other Procurement teams to ensure contract management in line with procurement governance (e.g. negotiate catalogs with supplier and inform analyst for upload)
    • understand and know the categories and markets (industry, suppliers, contractors, innovations,…) and the internal needs (specifications, etc.) in order to translate the organizational needs in the most adequate agreements with suppliers
  • policies, processes, governance & organization:
    • apply the proper procurement policies and processes in order to achieve the goals set for the organization
    • communicate and apply Group and Equans BeLux procurement governance throughout the organization and towards internal and external stakeholders
  • methodology & tools:
    • apply procurement methodology and use procurement tools (supported by Procurement Excellence)
  • coaching:
    • coach other (lead) buyer profiles (where relevant/needed)
  • marketing:
    • support to increase the visibility of the procurement activity and organization (internal and external)
  • targets & savings:
    • work towards, follow-up and report on procurement savings targets in your scope
    • ensure that the savings are reported according to the required guidelines
    • contribute to delivery of business and procurement targets

Your roles:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME):
    • develop and maintain expertise (market knowledge, innovations,…) in one or more procurement (sub)categories
    • support other roles (CM, PPL, CLB,…) where recommended with your (category) expertise
    • manage main negotiations in your domain
    • support category activities in line with Group requirements (activities are defined by Equans Group and aligned with Equans BeLux)
  • Global Category Lead Buyer (GCLB):
    • manage category in line with Group requirements
    • geographical scope is broader than BeLux
  • Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM):
    • apply the SRM governance to suppliers within your scope
    • manage supplier (relationship) reviews (where reviews are required) (including up-to-date supplier card,…)

You report to the Head of Procurement Contract Management.

What do you need to be successful in this function?

  • university master’s degree or equivalent by relevant experience
  • minimum >7 years’ experience in multi-technical domains
  • experience in leading large procurement projects
  • expert procurement skills and knowledge: negotiation, contracting, financial and cost management, contracts and purchase law
  • proficiency in procurement tools
  • proficiency in Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • good understanding of the business deployed in the operational entities
  • ability to formally represent the company internally and externally (towards suppliers,…)
  • very good communication & influencing skills
  • proficiency (verbal and written) in minimum two of the following languages: English, French and Dutch

Buyer

We are currently looking for a Buyer for our Procurement Operations team working transversally on all Equans Belux entities.

In this role you work on site at one of our offices in Aartselaar, Zwijndrecht, Braine l'Alleud, Fleurus or Brussels and you also have the option of working from home 2 days a week.

Your main focus in this job is the purchase of goods and services between 10.000€ and 100.000€  (service level 3), that require an intervention of Procurement in the final stage. You ensure goods and services needed by the different companies and operational teams of Equans BeLux are provided in time, of the right quality and in alignment with the performance objectives and Group strategy. You mitigate risks while respecting the Group ethical, safety and sustainable development principles and capturing innovation.

Some of your key tasks:

  • manage purchasing requests in line with purchasing policy and service levels
  • actively source and manage competition where needed
  • negotiate new and existing offers
  • ensure delivery of business and procurement targets
  • advise operational teams on making purchasing decisions and vender selection
  • liaise with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders

What do you need to be successful in this job?

  • at least a few years of prior experience of working in purchasing, in a similar position. Or you recently obtained your master’s degree and want to gain your first professional experience
  • knowledge of SAP is required, or on the job training will be offered
  • you possess excellent negotiation skills
  • you have a win/win and positive mindset
  • you are a communicative team player who is service minded and focused on providing support and advice

  • perform limited negotiations with suppliers while preparing purchase orders

  • liaise with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders

What do you need to be successful in this job?

  • a few years of prior experience of working in purchasing, in a similar position is a bonus but not a must

Are you our Area Sales Manager?

  • you have a technical or economic bachelor's degree
  • you have at least five years' experience in project sales
  • specific knowledge of the oil & gas industry is considered a plus
  • you are analytical, cope well with stress and can work to strict deadlines
  • you are a team player and passionate about sales
  • you are driven and enthusiastic
  • you are prepared to travel frequently (approx. 1 week per month)
  • you speak Dutch, French and English, and are a good communicator and negotiator
