We are actively searching for motivated Mechanics in the Antwerp region for assignments with our clients, potentially in combination with our workshop activities.

What does this challenge at Equans involve?

• you independently or in a team overhaul a pump, compressor, fan, heat exchanger, or extruder, butterfly valves, ball valves, and gate valves
• you carry out revisions on larger machines (gas and steam turbines)
• you align industrial installations in various ways
• you read and interpret machine assembly plans
• you assemble the flanges
• you perform lifting operations safely
• you convey your knowledge smoothly and clearly to your colleagues
• you estimate the necessary manpower, materials, and tools needed for specific tasks

Your strengths?

• relevant experience is a plus, preferably combined with an academic background
• a strong interest and curiosity in technology, primarily (but not exclusively) in (electro)mechanics
• a great motivation to learn, through our numerous practical training programs that you can follow in our own Equans Academy*.
  You also follow numerous operations and control training (VCA, forklift, load handling, overhead crane operation,…) to obtain all necessary certificates
• you are skilled in technology and tinkering
• you can demonstrate a certain flexibility, typical of the production and maintenance environment
• you are a pleasant colleague, a team player with a sense of responsibility
• safety and well-being are the most important elements in everything we undertake, and this is your top priority
• you are at all times our ambassador: we expect you to embody the Equans philosophy and attitude
• you are proficient in the Dutch language (important for safety reasons)

*The learning/experience path is particularly comprehensive, including:

• reading and interpreting machine assembly plans
• learning to work according to strict procedures, interpreting specifications
• use of digital tools and software
• learning to work with standard and special tools
• measuring and checking with common and less common measuring tools
• assembling and disassembling seals, manufacturing, and fitting
• different types of drives and couplings: disassembly, repair, and alignment
• repairing or overhauling rotating machines, e.g., a pump, compressor, gas and steam turbines,…
• disassembling, repairing, and replacing machine parts
• determining fits and assembling/disassembling parts by shrinking, expanding, or pressing
