As a Department Manager Solar & Storage, you define the growth strategy, lead a multidisciplinary team, and take full responsibility for the department’s performance and profitability within the Carbon Shift division of Equans. You work in a fast-moving energy environment, helping customers optimise solar and battery installations through energy management systems and electrical flexibility solutions.

Your work location: Belgium.

Your Equans base: Roeselare and Nivelles.

Zoom on the job:

  • define and execute the growth strategy for the Solar & Storage business in Belgium and Luxembourg
  • strengthen the department’s position in the market and build strategic partnerships
  • identify new business opportunities and support the department’s competitive advantage
  • lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team
  • support recruitment, employee development and training initiatives together with HR
  • promote a culture focused on safety, innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • oversee operational activities and ensure efficient project planning and delivery
  • maintain high standards in quality, HSEQ and customer satisfaction
  • improve processes to support sustainable growth and operational excellence
  • manage the department’s full P&L, including budgeting, reporting and profitability
  • monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions when needed
  • oversee commercial activities and support key customer relationships
  • lead major contract negotiations and contribute to tender decisions
  • manage project execution and performance across the department
  • report directly to the Division Manager and take ownership of results

Come as you are, ideally with:

  • a master’s degree in engineering or business engineering
  • at least 5 years of relevant experience in solar, infrastructure or energy, project management and team management
  • experience in sales and contract negotiations
  • knowledge of solar, battery systems, EMS and electrical flexibility solutions
  • strong financial awareness and experience preparing reports
  • ability to optimise and improve processes while engaging teams in change
  • strong people management skills and the ability to motivate others
  • clear communication skills and the ability to work closely with other group entities
  • a collaborative mindset and strong focus on performance and results
  • a good command of French/Dutch and English
